2027 Pokémon Championship Series: Overseas Event Registration Tutorial and Complete Schedule
With the overseas schedule for the 2027 Pokémon Championship Series officially confirmed, the new season will extend its battlegrounds to charming international metropolises such as São Paulo, Brazil, London, UK, and Chicago, USA. If you want to experience the dual fun of "battling on an international stage in the morning and exploring exotic streets in the evening," now is the best time to plan your exclusive "Pokémon Battle Trip." This article will provide a complete guide to registering for overseas events, helping you take your first step onto the international stage!

Major Changes for the 2027 Season
Game Adjustments (Pokémon UNITE exits the main series)

-
VGC (Video Game), TCG (Card Game), and Pokémon GO will remain as main events.
-
Pokémon UNITE will no longer be part of the official Championship Series system; instead, it will hold a standalone event, "Pokémon UNITE Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo" (with offline finals scheduled to be held in Tokyo, Japan in March 2027).
VGCVideo Game Division
Players participating in the VGC video game division are only permitted to use Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 series consoles. (Players of the Champion mobile version should take note ⚠️)

Pokémon GO
The 2027 Pokémon GO World Championships will be changed to a 3-on-3 team play format. Teams will be formed from qualified players (however, the Asia-Pacific regional qualifiers will still maintain individual battles).

Increased Championship Points (CP) and Slots
-
The criteria for awarding points have been relaxed, allowing players with lower rankings in Regionals and Internationals to also earn more CP.
-
The number of advancement slots for North America and Europe has significantly increased (Masters Division from 80 to 90; Juniors/Seniors Division from 20 to 40). The Juniors/Seniors Division in Latin America has also increased to 25 slots.

How to Register for International Events📝
Most official large-scale international events (Regionals and Internationals) are registered through the official partner platform RK9 Labs. Below are the complete registration steps:
Step One: Register for a Pokémon Trainer Club (PTC) Account and Player ID
If you don't have an official account yet, please go to Pokemon.com to register for a Pokémon Trainer Club account.
-
After logging in, apply for a Player ID in the "Play! Pokémon Settings" section of your personal profile.
-
Make sure you have opted in to participate in Play! Pokémon events, so that the CP you earn in competitions will be officially recorded.
Step Two: Create and Set Up an RK9 Labs Account
Registration for international competitions and submission of teams/decklists are all done on RK9.gg.
-
Log in to RK9 Labs using your Google account.
-
In your Profile, link your Pokémon Trainer Club account (bind your Player ID), and follow the instructions to link your Discord account (many competition announcements are made in real-time on Discord).
-
Important Note: Be sure to fill in all information such as date of birth, place of residence, Player ID, etc., before the registration day arrives, so you don't miss out on a spot due to filling out information during registration.
Step Three: Pay Attention to Registration Time and Prepare to Grab Tickets
This is a test of "speed"! Especially for international competitions like EUIC and NAIC, slots are often snatched up within minutes of registration opening.
-
Follow RK9's announcements: RK9 usually announces registration times "one week" before registration opens. It is highly recommended to follow RK9 Labs on X (Twitter) and turn on notifications.
-
Phased registration: Large events sometimes open registration in two or three phases (e.g., Phase 1 in the evening, Phase 2 the next morning). If you miss the first wave, keep an eye on the next one.
-
Prepare your credit card: Registering for overseas events requires paying a registration fee (usually $60 - $70 USD). Please make sure you have a credit card that can process international transactions.
Step Four: Submit Team List / Deck List
After successful registration and payment, your participation is confirmed!
-
Before the competition begins (usually before a specific deadline in the week of the competition), you need to log in to the RK9 system and submit your team composition (VGC includes moves, Tera Types, items, etc.) or deck (TCG) using its builder.
-
If not submitted by the deadline, you will be given a Round 1 Loss or even disqualified. Be sure to pay attention to the deadline set by the organizers (usually the evening before the competition in local time).
