HOW2WORK CTC The Monsters Series 3 Hong Kong Guide: How to choose LABUBU collector cards?
Last Updated: August 2, 2026
HOW2WORK CTC: The Monsters Series 3 is the official collectible card series from Kasing Lung's "The Monsters" universe, featuring LABUBU, but it is not a playable TCG. The series utilizes a Chrome finish, focusing on art, card embellishments, various rarities, and random collecting.

Relationship between HOW2WORK, SAKA SAKA, and Kasing Lung
- HOW2WORK: Releases the CTC collectible card series.
- Kasing Lung: Creator of "The Monsters," Series 3 features his new sketches/paintings, including LABUBU.
- SAKA SAKA: Listed in brand announcements as the international distributor for Series 3 outside mainland China.
This information is provided to clarify product origins and does not imply that MOONROAD claims to be an official agent. When purchasing, buyers should still verify the brand, series, sealed packaging, and product source.
Who is LABUBU? How is it different from The Monsters?
LABUBU is one of the most recognizable rabbit-eared characters in Kasing Lung's "The Monsters" universe, but LABUBU is not synonymous with the entire "The Monsters" series. This character world also includes ZIMOMO, TYCOCO, and others. Searching only for "LABUBU cards" when collecting might lead you to miss other characters and artworks within the same creative world.
Kasing Lung was born in Hong Kong in 1972. Since 2011, he has collaborated with HOW2WORK, initially developing his creations through picture books and collectible figurines. In 2015, he began "The Monsters" story series, whose worldview is heavily influenced by Norse mythology. In other words, LABUBU's cultural lineage is "story and illustration → art toy → collectible cards," not something that suddenly started from a blind box.
Collecting and Purchasing Significance: If you like a single character, you can collect LABUBU cards based on their card art and rarity. If you prefer Kasing Lung's style and worldview, you should also pay attention to other "The Monsters" characters, sketches, paintings, and the displayable Chrome versions.

Why should Series 3 be considered "art cards" rather than "game cards"?
Because the focus of the public product information is on the sketches, paintings, Chrome, and rarity created by Kasing Lung for the series, not on character stats or battle rules. Some versions may include autographed cards, which must be verified by official product information. Each card can be treated as a small, flippable, complementary, and displayable artwork; the surprise of opening a pack comes from the image, material, and version, not from "which card beats which."
Is Series 3 140+ or 144 types?
The official announcement uses "over 140 unique artworks" and lists four rarity categories:
- 42 Normal
- 42 Rare
- 42 Parallel Rare
- 18 Secret Rare (SR/UR)
Adding the four categories together results in 144 rarity slots. A more accurate phrasing would be "officially listed as 42+42+42+18," rather than assuming each card has the same set of variations. Some versions include autographed cards by Kasing Lung, but the official statement does not guarantee one per box.
Box and Single Pack Configuration
MOONROAD product information and retail configuration show: 1 Box = 10 Packs; 1 Pack = 6 Cards; a total of 60 random cards per box. As the official announcement does not specify the number of packs per box, purchases should still be based on the actual packaging and product page for that batch.

Choose a box if you want to focus on opening packs.
A box allows you to handle more cards and duplicates at once, suitable for the unboxing experience or starting to organize a set. However, 60 random cards do not guarantee collecting all 144 rarity slots, nor does it guarantee a signed card.
Choose single packs if you just want to see the physical product first.
Single packs are lower cost, suitable for experiencing the Chrome surface, card body, and printing. They have higher randomness. If the product page does not state that packs are randomly distributed from a sealed box on the spot, you should not assume so.

Is this the same as Topps Chrome LABUBU?
No, it's not. HOW2WORK CTC Series 3 is a collectible card series with 42/42/42/18 rarities; Topps Chrome LABUBU 10th Anniversary is another Topps product, with its official page listing 4 Chrome base cards, 1 Chrome parallel, and a keyring case per box. The brands, box configurations, card lists, and collecting goals are all different. They cannot be confused simply because they both feature LABUBU and the word "Chrome."
What can be seen from third-party unboxing videos?
Unboxing videos are useful for observing the Chrome's reflection, card thickness, packaging, and the proportion of the physical item. They are not suitable for inferring odds from one person's results. TOYSREVIL has unboxing content without narration, where the author mentioned that the glossy surface is prone to fingerprints and the cards are thicker. This is merely a personal observation of the physical product, not an official statement from HOW2WORK regarding quality or pull rates.

How to store Chrome cards?
- Wash and dry your hands before opening packs; handle cards by the edges.
- First, place them in acid-free/archival-safe inner sleeves of appropriate size.
- Do not use tissues or rough cloth to vigorously wipe the glossy surface; if dusty, use appropriate methods for collectibles.
- Thicker cards should be measured and paired with suitable sleeves/holders; do not force them in.
- Avoid direct sunlight, high temperatures, and humidity; storage locations in Hong Kong should be kept dry.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a LABUBU game card?
No. These are HOW2WORK's collectible trading cards, not advertised as a TCG that can be used for deck building and battles.
Does one box contain 60 cards?
MOONROAD product and retail configuration data shows 10 packs × 6 cards = 60 cards; the actual packaging of the batch is the final standard.
Is there a guaranteed Kasing Lung autograph in each box?
Not guaranteed. The official statement only says "selected editions" have autographed cards, which cannot be interpreted as a guarantee for every box.
Will there definitely be no reprints?
There is insufficient first-hand information to support "never to be reprinted," so this article does not make such a promise.
