The Pokémon Trading Card Game 30th Anniversary Expansion Pack "Super Evolution 30th CELEBRATION" (M6a) Traditional Chinese version is officially confirmed for global simultaneous release on September 16, 2026 (Wednesday). Players in Hong Kong will be able to get their hands on the Traditional Chinese version on day one, eliminating the need to rely solely on parallel imports from Japan. Also launching simultaneously are two "First Partner" sets, the Espeon & Umbreon Premium Deck Set, and the FURBOX, totaling five products. MOONROAD stores and online shop are now accepting pre-orders for all of them, which can be found in the Latest Pre-orders section. The five products have very different positioning, so read the analysis below before making a purchase.

What you need to know before buying: Three key points of 30th CELEBRATION

  1. 6 holographic cards per pack — The official Hong Kong website states that each pack "contains 6 holographic cards" (randomly inserted), and each pack is guaranteed to include 1 special basic Energy card designed by graphic artist YOSHIROTTEN.
  2. New rarity FUR (Futuristic Rare) makes its debut — Mew ex and Mewtwo ex are illustrated by YOSHIROTTEN.
  3. 30th Anniversary Tribute Project — 30 illustrators have created 30 unique holographic Pikachu cards, and 30 cards symbolizing history are reproduced in a special style.

For a detailed look at the card designs and the complete information from the June 1st announcement, please refer to our previous article: 30th Anniversary All-Holo Card Luxury Configuration Summary.

Five Traditional Chinese Pre-order Products, Which One Is Right for You?

1. "30th CELEBRATION" Expansion Pack Booster Box

The most direct way to open packs: get multiple packs with an all-holographic configuration in a booster box, targeting FUR Mew ex/Mewtwo ex, 30 Pikachu cards, and history tribute cards.
Who it's for: Collectors and veteran players who want to open a lot of packs, complete the set, or share packs with friends.
Note: All holographic doesn't mean every pack has a FUR card; rare cards are randomly inserted. The official number of packs per Traditional Chinese box has not yet been announced; please refer to the latest information from the official source or supplier.

2. Special Card Set First Partner

Named "Card Set" but not a ready-to-play battle deck—the content includes 1 bonus card pack (containing 3 newly illustrated "First Partner" AR cards, randomly featuring one of nine regional combinations from Kanto to Paldea) plus 4 "30th CELEBRATION" expansion packs.
Who it's for: Players who love starter Pokémon nostalgia, want a small entry into expansion packs, and desire limited AR cards.
Note: Regional combinations are random; you can't specify Kanto starters.

3. Card Frame Keychain First Partner Set

The content includes 1 bonus AR holographic card (27 types in total, covering "First Partners" from 9 regions), 1 expansion pack, and 1 card frame keychain (3 types in total, 1 randomly included), allowing you to display your card in the frame and carry it around.
Who it's for: Beginner collectors who prioritize 30th-anniversary merchandise over playing, have a minimal budget, or are looking for a gift.
Note: Both the bonus card and keychain designs are random.

4. Premium Deck Set Espeon & Umbreon

The only "ready-to-play" option among the five: one 60-card deck each for "Espeon ex" and "Umbreon ex", plus a sliding double deck box (metal), a playmat, 2 Pokémon coins, 2 damage counter sheets, and beginner's and player's guides.
Who it's for: Eevee fans, new or returning players who want to battle with friends immediately, and collectors who want 30th-anniversary limited accessories.
Note: Focuses on battle experience, not a card-pulling product.

5. CELEBRATION FUTURISTIC BOX (FURBOX)

Who it's for: High-end collectors, fans of FUR artwork, and players who want to upgrade their entire battle accessory set at once.
Note: The official content list does not include expansion packs; you'll need to purchase booster boxes or individual packs separately if you want to open them.

Traditional Chinese vs. Japanese Version: Which to Choose?

  • Same Release Date: Both are on September 16th; official confirmation states a global simultaneous release, so the Traditional Chinese version won't be delayed.
  • Card Language: Traditional Chinese version allows direct reading of card effects, making it more convenient for new players and local battle communication; the Japanese version is suitable for collectors who specifically want Japanese card artwork.
  • Distribution Channels: The Japanese FURBOX is primarily sold through Pokémon Center channels in Japan; all five Traditional Chinese products are available through local channels in Hong Kong, with MOONROAD accepting pre-orders for all.
