This is undoubtedly huge news for Pokémon fans who love traveling to Thailand. The official announcement was made in early May 2026: Thailand's first official permanent store will open in Bangkok.
Exclusive "Thai Costume Pikachu" Debuts: At the cooperation signing ceremony in May, officials specially arranged for a male and female Pikachu dressed in "Thai traditional attire" to appear, demonstrating strong confidence in the integration of Pokémon with local Thai culture.
Thailand Exclusive Merchandise: Following the tradition of global Pokémon Centers (such as the Dragonite and Night Market Pikachu at the Taipei store), the Bangkok store is sure to launch locally exclusive merchandise. These Pikachu plushies and merchandise dressed in Thai costumes will not be available in other countries, making them an absolute must-have in the future.
Immersive Fan Sanctuary: In addition to selling officially licensed Japanese plush toys, figures, apparel, and Pokémon Trading Card Game (PTCG), as the largest overseas flagship store, it is expected to feature rich themed displays and interactive areas, making it a new landmark for fan gatherings and pilgrimages.
Perfect Tourist Location: centralwOrld is located in the heart of Bangkok, easily accessible by BTS Skytrain. It boasts excellent surrounding amenities and tourist attractions, making it perfect to include in future Bangkok travel itineraries.
Historically, when a Pokémon Center opens, special promo cards are released. Taiwan had "Pikachu of Taipei," and to celebrate the renovation of "Pokémon Center Tohoku," "Pokémon Center Hiroshima," and "Pokémon Center Fukuoka," limited-design 【Special BOXes】 were released. It remains to be seen whether Thailand's first official Pokémon Center will launch new promo cards or gift boxes. Fans, let's wait and see.
